AFS Thanjavur Post Wise Qualification & Age Limit

TGT Computer (Contractual)

• Number of Posts: 01
• Age Limit: 21 to 50 years as on 01 July of the academic year in which the post is being filled; women and physically challenged candidates get up to 5 years relaxation; ex-servicemen can deduct actual service (minimum six months) from age with up to 3 years benefit over the upper limit; candidates with at least two years continuous service as PGT/TGT or three years as PRT/NTT in any Air Force School get relaxation equal to such service.
• Education Qualification: A Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree from any University recognised by Govt. of India/UGC/AICTE with minimum 50% marks in the subject and 50% in aggregate including electives and languages in the required subject combination, with PGDCA/MCA/BE from any Government recognised institution as the subject specific qualification; a Bachelor of Education Degree or its equivalent from a college/university recognised by Govt. of India/AICTE/UGC/National Council of Teachers Education; must be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English; desirable qualifications include knowledge of computer applications (especially MS Office), ability to read/write/communicate in Hindi, and CTET/STET qualification which carries additional weightage during selection.

PRT (Contractual)

• Number of Posts: 01
• Age Limit: 21 to 50 years as on 01 July of the academic year in which the post is being filled; women and physically challenged candidates are allowed up to 5 years relaxation; ex-servicemen who have put in not less than six months of continuous service in Army/Navy/Air Force may deduct that period from actual age and can exceed the upper age limit by not more than three years; candidates with at least two years continuous service as PGT/TGT or three years as PRT/NTT in any Air Force School but presently not working there will get age relaxation equal to such service; must be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
• Education Qualification: Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) from a recognised board, or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), or Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from any NCTE recognised institution along with a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognised by NCTE; desirable qualifications include knowledge of computer applications (especially MS Office), ability to read/write/communicate in Hindi, and CTET/STET which will get additional weightage.

PRT Games (Contractual)

• Number of Posts: 01
• Age Limit: 21 to 50 years as on 01 July of the academic year in which the post is being filled; relaxation for women and physically challenged candidates up to 5 years; ex-servicemen with not less than six months of continuous defence service can deduct that period from age and may go up to three years beyond the prescribed upper limit; candidates with at least two years continuous service as PGT/TGT or three years as PRT/NTT in any Air Force School but not currently working there are given relaxation equal to that service; should be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
• Education Qualification: Bachelor in Physical Education (B.P.Ed/BPE) from a recognised university, or Bachelor Degree with Physical Education as an elective subject with 50% marks, or Bachelor’s Degree with Physical Education as an elective subject with 45% marks and participation in National/State/Inter University sports or games or athletics recognised by Association of Indian Universities or Indian Olympic Association, or Bachelor Degree with 45% marks and participation in national or state or inter-university sports or games or athletics; desirable: knowledge of computer applications, ability to read/write/communicate in Hindi, CTET/STET with additional weightage during selection.

PRT Special Educator (Contractual)

• Number of Posts: 01
• Age Limit: 21 to 50 years as on 15.05.2026; women and physically challenged candidates can avail age relaxation up to 5 years; ex-servicemen with at least six months continuous service in Army/Navy/Air Force can subtract that service from their age and may exceed the maximum age limit by not more than three years; candidates with required continuous service in any Air Force School as PGT/TGT/PRT/NTT get relaxation as per Air Force School norms.
