TNEA Vacancy 2026 Details & Eligibility

TNEA Post Wise Qualification & Age Limit

B.E./B.Tech. (4 years / 8 semesters) Degree Courses – First Year

• Age Limit: As per TNEA 2026 Prospectus and Government of Tamil Nadu norms with applicable community reservation and relaxation rules
• Education Qualification: A pass in HSC (Academic: both +1 and +2) or its equivalent with relevant subjects Maths, Physics and Chemistry with minimum average percentage – General Category: 45.00%, Backward Class including Backward Class Muslim: 40.00%, MBC & DNC: 40.00%, SC/SCA/ST: 40.00%; or a pass in HSC (Vocational Subject: both +1 and +2) with any one of Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with the same minimum average percentages as above.
• Pay Scale: As per respective Government / Government-Aided / University / Annamalai University / Self-Financing Engineering College rules

B.Arch. Degree Courses – First Year

• Age Limit: As per TNEA 2026 Prospectus and rules framed by Government of Tamil Nadu / Anna University
• Education Qualification: As per HSC / equivalent eligibility for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2026-27 for B.Arch. Degree Courses and other conditions prescribed in the official Information Brochure (including pass in relevant subjects and minimum average percentage as notified)
• Pay Scale: As per concerned Institution and Government norms

B.E. (Sandwich) (5 years / 10 semesters) Degree Courses

• Age Limit: As per Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2026-27 norms with community wise relaxations as applicable
• Education Qualification: A pass in the prescribed HSC (Academic) or HSC (Vocational) streams with required combination of Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Engineering related vocational subjects and minimum average percentage – General Category 45.00%, BC including BCM 40.00%, MBC & DNC 40.00%, SC/SCA/ST 40.00% as per notification.
• Pay Scale: As fixed by the respective Colleges / Universities following Government rules

M.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Integrated) (5 years / 10 semesters)

• Age Limit: As per Anna University and Government of Tamil Nadu regulations for Integrated M.Tech. admission under TNEA 2026
• Education Qualification: A pass in HSC (Academic) or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or as prescribed in the TNEA 2026 Information Brochure, with minimum average percentage – General Category 45.00%, BC including BCM 40.00%, MBC & DNC 40.00%, SC/SCA/ST 40.00%.
• Pay Scale: As per University Department fee structure and norms

General Eligibility – Nativity & Schooling (For all Programmes)

• Age Limit: As per TNEA 2026 official notification and Government rules
• Education Qualification: Tamil Nadu candidates who have passed VIII/8th, IX/9th, X/10th, XI/11th and XII/12th standard from schools situated in Tamil Nadu are eligible and need not produce Nativity Certificate; Tamil Nadu native candidates who studied any of VIII/8th, IX/9th, X/10th, XI/11th and XII/12th or equivalent outside Tamil Nadu should upload Nativity Certificate only in electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate.
• Pay Scale: Not Applicable

Seat Allocation & Reservation (For all Programmes)

• Age Limit: As per Government reservation and admission norms
• Education Qualification: Seat distribution follows community wise reservation – Open Competition – 31.00%, Backward Class – 26.50%, Backward Class Muslim – 3.50%, Most Backward Class and Denotified Communities – 20.00%, Scheduled Caste – 15.00%, Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyars – 3.00%, Scheduled Tribes – 1.00%, along with special reservation categories such as 7.5% reservation for Government School Students, Ex-servicemen quota, Differently abled persons and Eminent sportsperson as detailed in the notification.
